Heather has been working as a painter/printmaker all her working life as well as teaching. Drawing forms the foundation to all Heather’s work be it painting or etch.
Quality of light, texture and pattern together with the drama of landscape are prime sources of inspiration.
The techniques of etch, both traditional and the new safe methods gave her the variety of expression essential to her work.
She spent time with Keith Howard & Freidhard Keikeben at two of their workshops and changed her workshop and methods totally to safe intaglio type methods using U.V light box, ImageOn film and drawing on True grain. She works on copper and zinc plates and produces black and white or coloured etches. She has been working on solar prints with Moira McTague.
Heather has done several public commissions but is now committed to smaller works.
Since the onset of arthritis she has had to move forward once again and has started to use the IPad – a different concept but equally rewarding.
