Background InformationExtending Practice, Celebrating Place is a new programme of activity taking place over the next two years which combines bespoke professional development support with marketing and commission opportunities for practitioners and other creative businesses working in the visual arts, combined arts, literature, music, theatre and dance within the county of North Yorkshire
Details of the programme are currently being finalised and this information is subject to final confirmation of funding.
The programme builds on the work undertaken by Chrysalis Arts’ Art Connections project and aims to provide highly specialist and flexible support that is directly relevant to the professional development needs of the practitioners and businesses involved. It is designed to support practitioners at different stages of development, including early career and business start-ups and more experienced practitioners. The programme has been developed as part of the work of Creative North Yorkshire and will draw particularly on the expertise of three North Yorkshire arts organisations: Chrysalis Arts, Create and Rural Arts.
The project has three strands:
• Advice/Portfolio/Critique Sessions
• Mentoring and Marketing Support
• Celebrating Place – a programme of ten commissions of between £2000 and £4000 for North Yorkshire based practitioners working in the visual arts, literature, music, theatre, dance and combined arts
Full details of this programme including deadlines for applications and selection criteria will be published on both the
