Jacquie Denby works from the landscape, making paintings and drawings that express the emotion and lyricism of landscapes that, although they have been inhabited and used for thousands of years, still feel wild. She exhibits widely and is expanding a reputation as an abstract artist. She believes that all her work has its roots in the “seen”, whether abstract or not and is a distillation of her daily experiences. She works in acrylic paint and charcoal with collaged elements.
