Margaret’s recent work is inspired by the northern landscape. Attracted by the open moorland, characteristic of the area above Dent and Hawes, and the peaceful river valleys she returns to these places. They inspire her work and play a central role in the creative process. She uses oils and works from charcoal drawings, working between deliberation and intuition with an emphasis on both mark making and colour. She is drawn to the practice of printmaking, using etching, drypoint and carborundum methods.
